Exam Study Guidelines
The Ultimate Exam Study Guide for EID!
It's about that time in the school year where exam season begins. It can be very stressful not just during the exam, but preparing for the exam as well. It's important to formulate a study guide and to organize all notes in order to properly prepare for your exam. A class I am currently enrolled in is EID, which is a digital skills and innovation course at Ryerson. The exam is scheduled for April 20th, which is about 3 weeks away. To preform well in this course, students will need to prepare a detailed study guide and that is exactly what I am going to show you guys.Image Source: Giphy
Organize Your Study Space
The first step in any introduction to studying is to get rid of all distractions and make sure you have a comfortable working environment. Some people need everything completely organized and tidy to fully concentrate, while others thrive in a more messy and cluttered environment. For the average person, it would be highly crucial to organize your working environment in order to effectively begin studying Website Source: TopUni.Image Source: Giphy
Check the Course Twitter!
Twitter is highly active part of this course and all of the students are required to have a twitter account in order to participate in the course. Other students may post important notes or study guides on twitter in an attempt to help their fellow classmates succeed (and get some extra bonus marks from the professor). In the previous midterm for this course, their was an entire quiz a student created with approximately 50-75 multiple choice questions which tested students on the significant focal points of the course material. This quiz helped me greatly in my studying and I'm sure that it helped many other students in their quest to study as well!Image Source: Giphy
Watch the Videos From the Lecture Slides
In our class, our professor posts videos along with written text in our lecture slides. This is extremely helpful in not only understanding sometimes difficult concepts, but also with regards to prepping for exams. Videos may indicate hidden concepts! Our professor implemented some of those concepts into our midterm exam. It may be helpful to some students to not only watch these videos once or twice, but to jot down important notes about the video and highlight the general notion from the video. I expect to see various questions with regards to slide videos on the final exam!Image Source: Gurl
Explain Your Answers to Other People
For people who don't consider themselves to be technologically-savvy, it may be very helpful to explain your answers to other people to make sure your answers make sense. Both the midterm and the final exam are not just multiple choice questions. There are short answer questions too which makes these tests a little bit more difficult. If digital skills or technology is not one's strong suit, explaining answers to other people will highlight areas where you need to work on and will give you feedback on what you can improve in your answers.Image Source: Giphy
Read Other Students Modules
The weekly module assignments which students have to compete each week provide essential course material which each student can learn from. Each week, students have the choice to pick from 4-7 different options to write a blog post on relating to important lecture concepts. Students are only required to pick one which means there are several other options they are missing out on. Reading other peer's modules about concepts you are unfamiliar with, will ensure no material is being missed and all your bases are covered.Image Source: Giphy
